“Jenna is a true artist who is able to capture a moment, feeling, and a reaction in a frame. I met Jenna by chance. We were throwing our engagement party when our wedding planner recommended having a professional photographer at the event. I am always wary of professional wedding photographers, because there’s nothing that makes me cringe more than cheesy, posed, and so visibly staged pictures. We met Jenna as we were walking into the party and she was very sweet, especially when I told her no staged photos and I wanted to have a good time/not make the entire evening a photoshoot. Within five minutes she captured the most beautiful photos of me and my now husband. Not only that but every single picture that she took during that party of the guests was not only incredible each one was frame worthy.

After the event, everyone from the party was like “what a fun event, but that photographer?! She was SO GOOD! Are you going to hire her for your wedding?” At the time, the answer was no. Before we had even met Jenna, almost like the day after we got engaged we had hired a photographer who was a referral from a friend of ours. My heart was broken. She highlighted the most magical moments of the party and I was devastated that she was not going to be with us on our special day. Alas, we had already paid half of the deposit for the slated wedding photographer.

We decided to lose our deposit so we could work with Jenna. We went to do our Engagement shoot with the wedding photographer (not Jenna), and it was my worst nightmare. Staged photos, with the promise that we would look great once we saw the edits. After 1.5 hours, three outfit changes, and too many forced smiles, I felt uneasy. Then I saw the photos. This is no offense to him, as he is a great photographer, but his style was not for me. We literally lost our deposit so that we could work with Jenna and it was by far the best decision we made during the wedding planning.

Jenna made an effort to get to know us as people. I swear I feel like we talked at least two to three times a week. She supported us as I sobbed on the phone the weekend the world shut down. We postponed our wedding four times, then eventually had it cancelled by the venue. We decided to get married in the backyard, and reduce our headcount from 250, to 50. Jenna was there every step of the way and was beyond compassionate and empathetic towards our situation.  Jenna genuinely loves her job. She loves people and knows how to capture a moment. She honestly feels like family at this point, and we really all lived and rode the roller coaster that was 2020. Did I mention that she shot our rehearsal and wedding and within 24 hours turned around ten sneak peeks and four days later 150 images?!!”
